Andrea Merenzon

Artistic Director

She is member of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Colón Theater in Buenos Aires since 1987.

2005 Latin Grammy, 1999 Konex Award, 2005 Woman of the Year - Clarín Journal, 2016 Avon FoundationCaring Woman Award, "Woman of the year" from the American Biographical Institute (USA) and "International Woman of the year" from the Cambrige Biographical Institute (UK). Executive Director of FUNDECUA (inclusion, support and social transformation through music). Some of her programs are: "Music without Age", the International Festival of Iguazú Youth Orchestras in Concert, the International Meeting of Youth Orchestras of Buenos Aires and the Baires CANTA International Choir Festival. Artistic Director of the Konex Festival of Classical Music. In 1998 and 1999, she received the honors Konex Gran Jurado, 2009 Director of the Symphonic Programming of Colón Theater and Vice President of the IDRS, USA (International Double Reed Society). As a bassoon performer, she recorded 10 albums and performed as a soloist in more than 30 countries. She is a specialist in major youth music events; she has collaborated and directed artists such as Patricia Sosa, Elena Roger, Raul Lavié, Jairo, Gustavo Santaolalla, Teresa Parodi, Sandra Mihanovich, Chango Spaciuk, Dario Volante, Vera Cirkovic and Antonio Tarragó Ros. She was awarded a scholarship by the Colón Theater Foundation, and studied music and administration at the University of Indiana (USA).

Sergio Jurado

Director of the Organization “Jujuy - Heartland of the Andes”

Musician from Jujuy, he began his music studies in his native province, he continued his higher studies in orchestral music at the National University of Lanús (Buenos Airess). He continued his advanced studies in Orchestral Conducting in the Venezuelan Orchestra System, Winner of the contest Hey Mozart Washington - USA, Contest Winner Antorchas Foundation, Abanderados Award of Argentina Solidaria 2015. Director of the Argentine National Orchestra "Juana Azurduy", composed of members of different provinces of Argentina. He created the System of Youth and Children's Orchestras of Jujuy - Argentina in 2000, and has conducted it since then. He has directed numerous performances in the most important stages of the country such as Colón Theater, Cervantes Theater, Luna Park, Faculty of Law (UBA), the National Congress and in countries such as the USA, Italy, Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil, Paraguay, Chile, Bolivia, etc. He has directed works of classical and contemporary composers in international meetings of orchestras that were carried out in different countries, as well as soloists such as Martha Argerich, Gustavo Santaolalla, Elena Roger, among others.

Gaston Morales

Director of the Organization “Jujuy - Heartland of the Andes”

From Jujuy, he is a Lawyer (2009, Siglo XXI University), an specialist in environmental law (2014, UBA), a drummer and a guitarist.

In addition to being an executive director (ad honorem) of the Festival organization, he works as the Secretary of Legal and Institutional Affairs of the Government of Jujuy, where he works on the elaboration and complementation of policies and actions framed in the provincial strategy "Jujuy Verde - Carbono Neutral 2030", including the transition process of the province towards renewable energies, and actively participating in the Cauchari Solar project, the largest photovoltaic solar park in Latin America.

Diego Siliano

Director of Arts

Professor of Visual Arts and set designer graduated from the Universidad del Salvador.

In 1995 he won the Hector Basaldúa Scholarship Award, awarded by Colón Theater and the Association of the Museum of Modern Art Friends of the City of Buenos Aires.He worked as an art designer for different companies in Hollywood, USA. He teaches at the National University Institute of Art IUNA of Buenos Aires, in the Master Class of Set Design. In Buenos Aires he worked for Colón Theater, Avenida Theater, General San Martín Theater, Coliseo Theater, Camarín de las Muses, Multiteatro, Callejón de los Deseos, Abasto. For Buenos Aires Lyric, he designed the sets of Werther, Rigoletto, La Traviata and Le nozze di Figaro (ACE Award for best production, 2006). In his last years he made the following works for opera: Tristán and Isolda, receiving the award of the Chilean critics as best production in 2007, and Mtsensk’s Lady Macbeth, award for the best production, 2009. Bluebeard’s castle, Macbeth and Wozzeck should also be mentioned, among others.

Jorge De La Vega

Artistic producer and sustainable music workshops

Since 1983, he has been the 1st Flute Soloist of the Stable Orchestra of Colón Theater of Buenos Aires. He graduated from the Faculty of Arts of the National University of Cuyo and in 1985 he studied Masterklasse with Maestro Paul Meisen in München, Germany. He has performed and premiered works such as the Great Danzón by Paquito D'Rivera and Milenium Concerto by Carlos Franzetti and de Fuelle y Oro for flute, bandoneón and orchestra by Néstor Marconi. In 2000, he conceived, performed and conducted the Musical Show "Los Animales de la Música", which in 2005 and 2006 was performed at Colón Theater in Buenos Aires and abroad. In 2002, he toured in the United States with the San Pablo Symphony Orchestra, Brazil, as the 1st Soloist Flute Player and in 2004 on the Brazilian tournée. Between 2015 and 2017, he was the Director of Production and Training of the Institute of Music and Dance of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Salta. In 2016, he premiered the concert for flute and orchestra by Néstor Marconi written especially for him. He has recorded more than 10 CDs as a soloist.

Debora Lachter

Press

Graduated in Communication Sciences (UBA), since 1996 she runs her own consulting firm. She has been head of press and communication of Colón Theater and external consultant in the Music Administration of CABA. She was responsible for communication of the Theater National Festival and press of the National Theater Circuit, Konex Festival of Classical Music, International Meeting of Youth Orchestras and Rafaela Theater Festival among other events on the cultural agenda. She has worked for countless shows for adults and children in the official, commercial and independent circuits; multidisciplinary events in Malba, Museum of Modern Art in Buenos Aires, Experimental Art Center (UNSAM), San Martin Cultural Center, Konex Cultural City, among other spaces. She has been responsible for the press of international artists in Argentina. Juan Elortegui

Technical Producer

He is a technical producer, sound system designer, operator and FOH assistant. Among his latest works are the Festival Únicos Buenos Aires in Palermo; the International Meeting of Youth Orchestras at Luna Park; the Latin American tour of José Carreras and the Rod Stewart show on the Costa Salguero. Between 2012 and 2017, he was responsible for the PA audio system at Luna Park. Before that, for eight years, he participated in tours in Australia, China, Thailand, Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, Burundi, South Africa, Kenya, Italy, Spain, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic and France, among others. Some of these performances crowned educational projects aimed at young people for the prevention of violence through art.

He completed his studies at Tecson School in CABA and completed them with Outline Certified System Engineer (OCSE) and Line Array concept seminars in Italy and Smaart v7 (Rational acoustic, Jamie Anderson), among others.
